ABOUT THE PROJECT

Battery energy storage system

Verila PV plant was the largest photovoltaic power plant in Bulgaria at its launch in June 2023. It spans over 130 hectares on the southern slope of the Verila mountain near Kraynitsi, with an installed capacity of 123 MW from more than 220,000 solar panels.

As part of the site’s expansion, El Smart Ltd is carrying out the electrical works for a battery energy storage system (BESS). The facility stores the generated energy and feeds it back to the grid at times of peak demand.
